Empowering Scientific Discovery Through Advanced Chromatography

At MicrOmics Technologies, we push the boundaries of what’s possible in nano‑liquid chromatography (nanoLC), delivering ultimate resolution, sensitivity, and throughput. Our passion is designing and producing separation tools and emitters that give scientists the
performance they need—especially in demanding settings like single‑cell and clinical proteomics. Precision separations matter; they unlock discoveries.

Our mission is to support the scientific community with high‑quality, reliable, cutting‑edge tools that elevate research: packed columns, self‑packed columns, electrospray emitters, and custom solutions. Whether you're doing top‑down proteomics, metabolomics, or
ultra‑sensitive small molecule work, our products are built to help.

Meet the Team

Below are the people behind MicrOmics—experts in chromatography, mass spectrometry, instrument design, and technology translation. Each brings unique strengths, together making MicrOmics a resource for innovation.

Ryan Kelly, PhD

With a long career bridging academia and national labs, Ryan builds advanced technologies in MS‑based omics. He helped develop electrospray ionization sources for ultra‑low flows, improved ion optics, and high‑sensitivity separations. His lab created nanoPOTS, a microfluidic platform enabling protein identifications from single mammalian cells, reducing sample processing volumes by orders of magnitude. Ryan’s work has led to commercially licensed patents, multiple awards (including R&D 100), and a reputation for driving innovation in proteomics.

Xiaofeng Xie, PhD

Xiaofeng’s background is in analytical chemistry and materials science. He designed portable capillary HPLC systems at industry, led patentable work at Axcend, and now is focused at MicrOmics on automating and “smartizing” single‑cell proteomics workflows. He combines engineering, chromatography, mass spectrometry, and software/control systems.

Thy Truong, PhD

Thy’s contributions are in sample prep, separations, and data acquisition for ultrasensitive, label‑free single‑cell proteomics. Their work spans innovations in nanoflow liquid chromatography, automating sample handling, and improving throughput and sensitivity. Thy’s publications are widely cited and reflect cutting‑edge developments in proteomics methods.

Kerry Nugent, MS

With 50+ years in LCMS, Kerry is a pioneer: from founding Michrom Bioresources, to inventing technologies like CaptiveSpray, to consulting across industry and academia. He brings deep hands‑on experience with nano‑capillary LCMS, both in proteins/peptides and small molecule work, and has helped shape what high‑end instrument workflows look like today. At MicrOmics, he offers guidance and technical leadership that only decades of work can produce.

How We Bring It All Together

Product Focus: We make packed columns, self‑packed columns, electrospray emitters, and custom columns/emitters—each tailored to push nanoLC performance.

Applications: Designed for single‑cell proteomics, clinical proteomics, metabolomics, high throughput pharma/biopharma assays.

Innovation + Reliability: Product ideas stem from real lab challenges (sample loss, sensitivity, throughput), and each is tested to meet high standards.
